Since Netflix's Riverdale aired, I've been impatiently waiting for new episodes!

Many Archie Comics fans haven't been too pleased about having their childhood memories blemished by Riverdale but I think the darkness adds loads more dimension to each character, and helps out the storyline here. Apart from Miss Grundy, the characters are all incredibly well casted and ethnically diverse.

The wardrobe team has done an amazing job for all of the characters - dyeing Archie's hair red, giving Jughead a unique crown shaped beanie and dressing the iconic good girl Betty and edgy Veronica.

Our raven beauty Veronica's look is very trendy, just like the fashionista that she is in the comics.

She first catches the eyes of heart throb Archie in her very Veronica ensemble ft. her cape coat.

Veronica's style is often very preppy but still adorable. Her plaid co-ord reminds me of Cher's yellow co-ord in Clueless but we'd never catch Ronnie in bright yellow!

If you ask Kevin Keller, Betty and Ronnie's gay BFF, he'd probably say V's style is classy but cute.

Episode 1 ends off with both V and B making the cheer team and taking Archiekins to the dance! Way to go, V! She looks so comfortable in her busty tight dress while Betty is rocking out in her demure, sweet pink dress. Classic Betty.

Is she still Veronica Lodge without her pearls?

Nope, she will accessorise with pearls, even when she's about to go for a swim! I love her tweed skirt here that looks Chanel. Very Veronica.

Are you a Betty or a Veronica???

Riverdale is airing tonight (thursday)! Do you love it or hate it? Does Miss Grundy bug you?!?

Here I am in Doha airport waiting for my connecting flight back home. It’s February, which is a strange time for me to be going home. As I got to Heathrow airport, that feeling of nostalgia tangled up with anxiety hit me. Flights are hardly my favourite thing, does anyone really like them?

The thought of leaving my second home, Guildford, tugs on my heartstrings. But it’s not so much the place that I love, it’s the people I live with. Packing up my bags to go back to Singapore reminded me that eventually, we will be graduating and moving on with our lives.

I’ve been told that Uni days are the best days - this statement I cannot refute. In the span of 3 years, I’ve seen so much of Europe, travelled to America for the first time with a group of people I really enjoy.

Denim jacket, Adidas california t-shirt, Corduroy skirt from Urban Outfitters // Chelsea walkers from H&M

Those who know that I live with 4 other guys are often curious what this communal living life is like. When we’re not working, we’re playing games -- and I do mean all sorts of games -- from counter strike to PS4 games to basketball, like actual hoop basketball in the house.

My flat mates (minus the two on the right)

Though there are quiet days in the house, where everyone is just hiding in their rooms doing their thang, or unpleasant days where you have to clean up messes, communal living really taught me to be more selfless and not be calculative. It is super helpful to be reflexive of your actions so you don't inconvenience people you live with, which is the key to happy communal living!

There are so many tips I have learned through living with others, some more basic than others.
  1. Always clean up after yourself, seriously, just. do. it.
  2. Never take/use someone else’s things without permission
  3. Always communicate well to reduce misunderstanding
  4. Never leave food that have gone off in the fridge, it will make the other food go bad.
  5. Sometimes you should volunteer to clean the communal areas that isn’t anyone’s duty to clean
  6. Keep your volume down after midnight, or when someone is sleeping.
  7. Empty the bins whenever it’s full. Just. do. it.
  8. Keep your mess within your room and not into the communal spaces.
  9. Offer practical help to your house mates… cos they will do the same for you when you need it!
  10. Be patient with someone’s flaws,  no one changes overnight.

Over these past months, I’ve witnessed how gracious and selfless my housemates are to me and it makes me want to do the same for them, i.e. go out of my comfort to do stuff for them. It’s a huge blessing to have amazing housemates that you can count on for the good, bad and ugly and I really hope that you will find these people that I’m talking about. And that you'll grow to miss them when it is all over.

XX
Sending love from Singapore back to my second home in the UK.

Waking up to snow is one of the most marvellous things. It made me leap out of bed, put on my face and run outside to take pictures. I have never, I repeat, NEVER leaped out of bed so willingly ever.

Fine, I'd admit - I hated the cold and snow because I'm a true blue tropics girl (SG pride, holla!) who can't deal with the cold. But since final year began, my body seemed to have toughened up to the cold a little and I've since then sort of enjoyed the chilly weather...ish.

Marcus, Dom and I hopped into the car and drove to The Mount, which *surprise, surprise* is a little mount that gives an aerial view of Guildford town. Truthfully I'm disappointed that I've never been up here! I'm almost done with third year and I've hardly explored this gem of a town I live in!

I brought two jackets as well cuz I wasn't sure which one I needed. I ended up needing both because it was SOOOO COLD. It was fo'sure 5 degrees colder than Guildford due to the breeze up there.

Since having not one but TWO cars in the house, I've been seeing a lot more of Guildford. And I don't mean to sound snobby because factually I'm just lazy - BUT! Having a car has changed my university experience so. much. I'm seeing so much of Guildford, places that I would not have travelled to without a car...

Since first semester is unofficially over, I've got a bit more time to focus on dissertation stuff and blogging. I think I'll start writing a bit more about my uni experience! Let me know if you're interested?

Bless up!

Last week I skipped a couple of classes, flew into Athens to reunite with my sister. The country surprises me, really. Amongst fighting a financial crisis, it didn't feel like a complete ripoff for tourists. Almost all the famous sites were free for EU students.

Some days were really chilly, with temperatures falling below 9 degrees in the evenings, making jackets and coats necessary.

While I'm not a huge fan of the greek people in Athens, I did enjoy the rich architecture and food terribly much. I tolerated racist comments almost daily while in Athens (and Santorini), way more than I ever did in any european country. I blame the poor education on tolerance.

From Athens, we flew into Santorini and was greeted with the dreamiest, most gorgeous views. Visiting Greece in winter meant that you could have the entire beach to yourself, no need to wait around to take your picture perfect photos. A photographer's dream, it is.

Though in Greece, Oia, pictured above, was mostly a dead town. Most restaurants and retail shops were closed for the "holidays" and only reopens in April. It didn't matter for me because I was only after the photos. Fira, the Santorini town center, had more food establishments still running, which was where I stayed.

Santorini was really small, and almost like an entire island dedicated to tourists. You could go from one end of the island to the other in about 50 minutes with a car. There was close to no buses in service during winter season, so renting a car was a must. You can opt for a donkey ride from town center to Oia (where the beautiful pastel establishments are) but the donkeys smell, duh.

By night, Oia transforms into this!!

On the other end of Santorini, you'd find a beautiful lighthouse where you can catch the sunset with less crowd! Near the lighthouse, a humble Taverna Glaros serves heavenly seafood that I highly recommend.

Is winter a good time to visit Greece?

Yes, you get really beautiful photos without all the other tourists butting into your shots. You can enjoy the scenic sunset peacefully without any crowd. Athens is business as usual but Santorini is almost completely shut down.

Temperatures vary from 5 degrees to 18 degrees in December. At night and early mornings I wear a windbreaker. I suggest bringing a parka a variety of clothing - you can always layer up if it gets cold.

Unfortunately, it would be too cold to swim in winter so that's better reserved for the summer.

Hope this is helpful for anyone going to Greece, especially this time of year!
Next week I'll be in NYC so do keep up with me on Instagram @courache!

cute printed cap lazy oaf printed shirt mens adidas superstar slip on mint
Cap and printed shirt from Lazy Oaf (£3, £10) // Superstar Slip Ons in Mint from Adidas

Last Saturday I waited in line for 3.5 hours to get into the Lazy Oaf Sample Sale. It was pure madness, and I promise you I asked myself if I was crazy about 15 times during that 3.5 hours in the cold.

I arrived at 20 mins past opening (10am). I reckon people were queuing from 7.30am or 8am because when I got there, the queue has already snaked around.

2 hours into queuing, Gemma Shiel (designer of Lazy Oaf) came outside to tell the crowd that the stocks were running low so they will restock items very slowly. NOoOoOo!

Inside, people were ravaging the racks for clothes. (There were racks that were just so bare - 2 hangers on it.) Whenever clothes were restocked onto the racks, shoppers would fight their way to grab literally anything. It wasn't a pleasant sight at all.

At some point, the staff brought out boxes of accessories/bags and the shoppers would run towards the boxes and start grabbing everything their hands could hold like wild animals except with hands. Very savage-y.

Everything I got were the stuff that got placed back onto the racks when people decided they didn't like it, which was incredibly, incredibly fortunate.

I absolutely love Lazy Oaf but I cannot imagine going into another sale like this for a long while so I looked very hard online for quirky clothes like Lazy Oafs.

1. Store Dog Dog
An online shop based in China, they were originally the manufacturers of Inu Inu, who apparently did not pay their manufacturers and sold overpriced clothing. Store Dog Dog decided that they'd sell the items at close to cost price to cover for their losses.
(Free shipping to UK)

2. Rad.co
This site kept popping up on my Facebook Ads so I had a little look. They sell mostly rebellious slogan clothing and occasionally simple, weird designs.

3. Japanese Fashion Yesstyle
If you go to Japanese fashion on Yesstyle you can find pastel pink coats and cute socks, similar to the ones Lazy Oaf has! But there's so many items on their website it would require a lot of patience going through the website.

4. UNIF
Slightly more expensive than Lazy Oaf. If you're rollin' in the benjamins, this brand offers a lot of unique, colourful pieces. It's so popular that I've seen knock offs in Singapore / Thailand.
($15 USD shipping to UK, free if purchases >$300)

Will you queue up to buy discounted Lazy Oaf products? Or am I just crazy?

Sassy slogan jumper from Asos // White ripped mom jeans from Asos // Trainers from New Balance

As a teen I wore a lot of slogan tees. Funny tees and logo tees... with the "FCUK" (French Connection UK) tee making quite a few appearances. It was a way to tell people who I was and more importantly, associating myself to being 'hilarious'. It's flattering to hear someone say you're funny because that means that you're witty. And as I grew a little more, I wore a lot of funny cartoony threadless t-shirts - because a picture speak a thousand words.

slogan jumper style outfit

Still, some things don't change. I'm a sucker for a funny slogan tee and I wish I could tell you, how much I like that t-shirt with two strategically placed pink rainbow-sprinkled donuts.

Whether it's for people to initiate a conversation or to tell them not to mess with this bo$$a$$ lady, I (sometimes) like my clothes to do all the talking for me.

What do you think?

Standing at 162cm or 5'4, I may not be retailers' definition of petite but I have short legs so I spend a lot of time searching high and low for bottoms that fit me perfectly. Ever since I was given money to buy my own clothes, I've made so. many. fashion faux pas and I'll share them all here with you so you don't have to make the same mistakes.

Here's 5 tricks on how to make clothes work for you instead of beating yourself up over your beautiful body.

nude heels for petite girls

1. Wear nude heels
Nude heels are the superheros of petite girls. They work for those with fairer skin tones because it almost seems like an extension of our legs, making our legs look a few inches longer. They give us the extra boost we need to conquer the world and really, they look so classy. However, a great pair of affordable nude heels is harder to find than that pair of Coldplay Singapore tickets I waited 1 hour for with no avail.

2. Black trousers go with black heels
Similar to the nude heels concept, wear black heels or shoes with black jeans so it looks like the shoes are an extension to your legs.

3. Avoid ankle strap shoes & high top trainers
Ballet shoes with laces halfway up your calves will bring focus to your legs. They also crop the length of your legs (to where the laces end), just like high top trainers. However, in 2016 when ballet flats were all the rage, I gave in and bought a pair. Sometimes you just want to wear what you like even if it isn't working for you. Give in to that temptation and wear it. Wear it to death so you'd never want to wear them again... Take LOADS of photos just so you can be reminded why they won't work out for you.

4. High-waisted bottoms
Guys don't get high-waisted bottoms. They think its weird. Not only do these heaven sent bottoms hide our food baby, it also creates an illusion that our legs start higher than it actually does. Thank Jesus for this brilliant conception.

5. Avoid maxi unless...
Maxi dresses and coats are very tricky for the petite girl. I'd say avoid altogether unless you're willing to tailor it afterwards. I have never found a maxi dress that ended at the right length for me without making alterations. 100% opt for shorter length coats and skirts that ends above the knee or it will look like your coat has engulfed you. Midi skirts that end mid calf will cut off half the length of your calves, making them look shorter than ever.

6. Shop petite for trousers and jeans
Not every brand carry a petite range but Topshop, Missguided, Asos, New Look are some of the brands that do. I only buy jeans from American Eagle because they are the comfy-est jeans with different short, regular and long lengths. (I wear short.) As a rule of thumb, any pair of trousers that are longer than 29 inch in length is too long for a petite girl. Asos' petite range of trousers come in length 29" even for size UK 12 or 14. Alternatively, try asian brands like Uniqlo who tends to cater to asians who are (stereotypically) shorter.

Shopping for your body size is hard, even for tall girls. I always tell my girlfriends that if they like something they can afford, buy it and tailor it later. Life is simply too short to give up on a pair of beautiful trousers that is twice the length of my legs.

If you know of any other tips and tricks, do share them with me! :)
